Yeah..I had to look twice at its veneer...some old red gum with knarled trunk and stricken by some trunk virus and many years sapless
It is so beautiful to touch..so smooth and so rough

Used to hate having to burn some pieces of wood(in the wood stove/heater) they had so much texture and facinating gnarls.
