All around Bairnsdale we kept coming across these TRAIN BEWARE signs.
They would really have made Jeffrey Smart salivate...i'm told his greatest joy was driving over those directional arrows placed on roads
Rural Australia is so expansive..a few sheep, some people, many magpies and cockatoos and many swallows...not a very space challenged country..

Just arrived back from few days in East Gippsland. Bairnsdale is a beautiful town on the doorsteps of the Gippsland Lakes system. It is a truly scenic jewel positioned between the steppes of the Great Divide and the Bass Strait with the meandering Mitchell River nearby making it's way to Lake King at Eagles Pt near Paynesville
